An event organizer is responsible for planning, managing, and organizing seasonal events all over the country. Event organizers perform various functions, such as ; Plan and organize the event from concept to finish,

  • Select the most suitable location or venue; book, prepare, and arrange it for the event
  • Design a layout and agenda of the event; create event guides, tickets, pamphlets, and any other marketing activities to promote the event traditionally or digitally with the assistance of PR professionals or marketing executives
  • manage staff, as well as special guest appearance, MCs, anchor or any other suitable entertainer for the event
  • Attend event to oversee activities and ensure details are handled as planned
  • Address any dispute that may arise, and remain on site after the event is over to ensure proper clean up
  • Negotiate and contract with, lighting, sound equipment, displays, stages, parking, food and drink and any other essential item to ensure the success of the event
  • Perform other related duties as may be assigned or requested by clients

Requirements for Event Organizer

  • Experience in event organization or management or related work experience is an added advantage
  • Strong communication skills – written and verbal is a must
  • Positive and outgoing personality
  • Strong negotiation, leadership, and planning skills
  • Ability to multi-task, remain calm and work under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Attention to details and good problem solving skills
  • Experience or talent for organizing and working complex events in an efficient and methodical manner
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with diverse types of people
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and also take initiatives when the need arises
  • Ability to work unsupervised.

Check-in Team;

Must be able to use a smart cell phone, computer, or tablet to check guests in. Check-in helpers will hand attendees their lantern, etc once they’ve checked in.

Set-up & Break-down;

Help set up the stage, check-in and merchandise tent and tables, lighting, firepits, tiki torches, etc. Break-down and pack up all festival materials

Merchandise Sales

Handle sales of on site festival merchandise sells, restock as merchandise gets low, handle payments via our system on either a computer, smartphone, or tablet we provide, pack up remaining merchandise at the end of the festival.

Parking Attendants

Check Parking Passes, hand out parking map and direct attendees to their parking area, close off the entry and remain at the gate once the festival starts, security will remain with you during the festival, direct attendees out of the festival grounds when their sections are called to leave.

Clean-Up 

clean all festival areas assigned to you, and help collect lanterns.

 

Social Media Team

Our social media team is responsible for managing our facebook, instagram, pinterest, mewe, and creating new profiles on other suitable social media networking sites.

Marketing Team

The Marketing Team will be responsible for delivering and further developing the LOA’
Marketing Strategy;

  1. Responsible for the delivery and evolution of the marketing strategy and work with the CEO
    to implement further developments when necessary.
  2. Promote the IES brand, policies and core values.
  3. Actively identify marketing and promotion opportunities
  4. Manage all aspects of production, receipt and distribution of marketing material.
  5. Deliver all marketing activity within the agreed budget and within agreed sustainability
    criteria.
  6. Work with the Publications and Policy Officer to achieve frequent, timely and positive media
    coverage of LOA.

Qualifications

Minimum of two years experience in either
events management or marketing

  1. Experience of developing and managing
    external partnerships in the delivery of
    projects
  2. Demonstrable experience of running eventsfrom conception to competition
  3. Appreciation of the nature of accountability, ethics, targets and outcomes.
  4. Marketing or communications background
    degree and further relevant qualifications
  5. Experience of developing marketing
    strategies and identifying new areas of
    growth / income / exposure.
  6. Excellent communication skills both oral
    and written.
  7. Ability to organize and prioritize own
    workload.
  8. Self-led with an ability to work alone or as
    part of a team.
  9. Ability to find imaginative and practical
    solutions and make well-considered
    decisions.
  10. Excellent interpersonal
    communication skills, and ability to
    communicate with diverse audiences.
  11. Well-developed planning, risk and issue
    management and delivery skills.
  12. Self Motivation and a positive outlook.

 

 

Customer Service;

Our Customer service team will be in charge of answering emails sent through our website contact form, direct email, and live chat. 

duties include;

  1. Helping attendees with purchasing event passes.
  2. Pass Activation Issues and questions.
  3. Forwarding any emails to another department.
  4. Answering general questions.
